The Temptation of Christ – Video

Jesus was utterly faithful to the will of the Father, that he was without sin. But that does not mean that he was never tempted. In fact, the pastor who wrote Hebrews declared that Jesus was tempted in all things like we are. It is because he shared our temptations that he is our sympathetic high priest.

What does this mean? Reflections on the Lee University Revival

Fire, tongues, rushing wind – the day of Pentecost was mysterious. The phenomena provoked the question, “What does this mean?” This is a question of faith. We are called to discern moves of the Spirit because not every spirit or sign is from the Holy Spirit. So, I have no issue with someone who is trying to prayerfully discern revival. I attended the prayer services at Lee University on three occasions. I posted my reflection on the first encounter on Facebook. I repeat it here:

Reflecting on the Christian Forum

Recently (Jan 19-20, 2023), I was honored to participate in the Christian Forum in Atlanta, Georgia. The gathering consisted of about forty pastors and other clergy from Roman Catholic, Baptist, and Pentecostal churches. We came together holding to a simple theological commitment – belief in the Triune God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The agenda was likewise simple: “to build bridges of unity through the sharing of faith stories or testimonies.”
