Over thirty years ago, as I was a young pastor in a small rural church, I received a prophetic word: “I will open doors and you will have a ministry all over the world.” Frankly, I didn’t take it serious. Being reared in a small Georgia town, pastoring a small church, it never occurred to me that I would travel outside the USA to preach and teach the gospel. Years went by as I continued my education and pastoral work. I all but forgot the prophetic words spoken to me in that little church.

About fifteen years later, I received a call from an elderly church member. He wanted me to join him and a friend for lunch. I happily agreed. When I arrived for lunch I was introduced to a short, brown man from Burma (at that time I wasn’t sure where Burma was located!). He was a pastor of a Pentecostal church in Yangon, visiting the US to raise funds. I agreed to allow him to present his need to our congregation on the following Sunday. At the conclusion of the service, he said, “I want you to come to Burma.” I politely responded, “Sure, I’d love to come.” But I never really expected anything to come of the invitation. In the meantime I wrote sermon and sent it out via the Internet. I had no idea of the power of the Internet. Within days, I had two confirmed flights: one to Sofia, Bulgaria and the other to Yangon, Myanmar. That was 1999. Since then I have returned to eastern Europe and southeast Asia many times. I have been teaching young men and women Pentecostal Theology and Pastoral Leadership. The prophetic words that were spoken to me years before are alive! God has opened many doors.

Doors are still opening. I will be traveling to Bulgaria again in June of this year. This time I will be leading a short term missions trip of pastors and laity. I am in the process of raising my travel budget and humbly request that you prayerfully consider supporting this venture.
